Welcome to my small piece in the ever-expanding world of the web. I have a great love and, more importantly, passion for photography. Although my first thought was to describe my tendancy towards images of nature and landscapes, justice is just not served by excluding the many other realms of photography that I explore. All my life I have imagined my experiences I see as though through the lens of a camera; but only in the last couple of years have I actually put the camera between myself and the image. Why such a passion for photography?? I don't know how much words can really portray a passion but...I find it makes your mind and your eyes never get lazy, never get bored .... whether you are exploring the Galapogos Islands, dancing with the Masai tribe in Tanzania, or taking out the garbage. It also heightens both your awareness and your interest in your environment and the forces of nature. Never before did I pay such close attention to the weather forecast and the ever changing forces and phenomenons of nature or quirky expressions on a person's face. Before photography, I really hadn't taken the time to learn what a sumac or a fogbow was, or the fact that the moon rises just as the sun sets the day before a full moon. And I guess I just get a "rush" or some sort of "subliminal high" when I feel that shutter release being depressed! My second passion is travelling, usually in the backpacking form but occasionally in the doing-project form. Unfortunately, the combo of photography and travel has only come together in the Morocco and Ecuador trips. When in India, I took onlyTWO photographs of the Taj Mahal!! Me with friends...
For those who wonder, I now use a Canon Elan II with lenses covering the range of 28-300mm as well as a 90mm macro lens. Rarely do I use flash but as often as I can, I use a tripod.
